Tarte de Natas (Portuguese Custard Pie)


Ingredients

For the pastry
  • 150 g plain flour
  • 75 g butter
  • 1 egg
For the filling
  • 5 egg yolks
  • 1 lemon zest
  • 750 ml milk
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 4 tbspoons sugar
  • 3 tbspoons maizena
How to:
  1. Do the pastry as in the quiche lorraine recipe.
  2. Do the filling as in the Leite Creme recipe (with the adjusted ingredient quantities).
  3. Pre-heat the oven to 180 °C.
  4. Roll out the pastry and place it in a baking tray.
  5. Pour the filling and bake for 30/40 min.
  6. In the end the top should be slightly brownish.
I like to eat this pie sprinkled with cinnamon powder!
